Welcome to Equity Ink
I’m Whitney—an advocate for equity in education and a writer who believes that writing can be a powerful tool for access, confidence, and student success.

With over a decade of experience in K–12 literacy and higher education support, I’ve worked closely with students from low-income, first-generation, and historically underrepresented backgrounds. I’ve seen firsthand how academic writing—and the systems surrounding it—can become a barrier rather than a bridge. Equity Ink grew out of that reality.
Equity Ink exists to support students and the educators, advisors, and mentors who work alongside them. Through writing-centered resources, workshops, and professional development, I help break down academic barriers and make college systems more navigable, humane, and equitable.
As a former high school English teacher and a current TRIO Student Support Services professional, my work sits at the intersection of literacy, student advocacy, and student success. I understand both the classroom and the advising space—and the pressure educators and staff face to support student writing without always having formal training in it.
Here, you’ll find:
- Resources that help students build confidence, clarity, and self-advocacy through writing
- Practical tools and strategies for educators and student success staff to support student writing—without needing to be writing instructors
Whether you’re a student navigating academic expectations or a professional looking for meaningful, realistic ways to support student growth, Equity Ink is here to meet you where you are.
Let’s work together to write a more equitable future—one word at a time.
